Hospitality for BMW PGA Wentworth
BMW are sponsors of the PGA Championship and as part of this sponsorship, wanted to make the most of the Wentworth PGA tournament to showcase their vehicles and also connect with customers. The complete project was designed and managed by TRO, a live event and marketing agency.
The Vision
TRO’s vision for the event was to create a BMW experience that would match the quality and prestige of the brand. The structure needed to showcase vehicles in a contemporary yet practical environment and link to an exclusive BMW Owners hospitality area complete with reception, balconied area, terrace, dining facilities and retail unit. The structure needed to be completed to a high specification and the attention to detail complimentary to the renowned BMW finish.
The System
For the main hospitality structure, we built a 20mx25m two storey building with a 6m internal atrium at the entrance. The structure was fitted with 2.5m architectural glass wall panels and covered with our unique clear span Space Roof System. This reduced the need for internal supports. The flexibility of the system also enabled bespoke cladding to be attached directly to the external frame. A single storey, open sided display area, ‘the village’ was constructed in front of the hospitality structure. The village was connected with a series of walkways, decking and steps and fitted with interactive display material to allow guests to experience a range of BMW models, including the New BMW 6 Series.
